Continued Instruction

Congratulations! You have reached the final section of these online modules in bassoon techniques. Beyond this, I recommend pursuing study with or directing questions to a professional bassoonist - myself included!

Below are a few options for virtual instruction, if a real-life bassoon teacher is unavailable.

Interactive:

Contact me for rates and availability for virtual lessons and masterclasses! I have years of experience with distance learning in both applied lessons and sectionals, including multiple camera setup and session recording, and I am more than happy to work with you!

Modules:

Dr. Kristin Wolfe Jensen has created a magnificent resource at https://www.musicandthebassoon.org, including:
  • folk tunes, popular songs, classical music, technical exercises, and “play by ear” assignments
  • audio clips so you can hear professional bassoon playing on the tunes you are studying
  • instructional videos
  • duets where you can play in harmony with the audio clip

Documentary:

While appearing a bit dated, the United States Army Field Band has a wonderful video exploring bassoon fundamentals in depth:
